Why Coffee Time?
Growing up in a small Midwest community that was built around a Dutch heritage, coffee time was an integral part of the day. Growing up and working in the summers for my Dad in the HVAC installation industry, coffee time was always called around 9am and again at 3pm. It was usually just 15 minutes (as required by law) where everyone on the job site, from every company working there, grabbed their lunch pails, pulled out a snack and sat around shooting the breeze.
Ironically, at that point in my life, I didn’t really drink much coffee.
Life’s changed, and now I love coffee and work a desk job. I’m also trying to figure out how to live life the best that I can. The thing that hasn’t changed? The combination of coffee and conversation. It might look a little different now than it did growing up, but there’s still nothing better than tackling the topics of life over a hot cup of joe.
As I grow and tackle situations and thoughts on growing in maturity, my marriage, parenting, and my faith, I’ll fill up my mug with some French press, and share my thoughts, experiences, and (likely) struggles here. And I want to know what you think too.
So grab a mug, fill it up, and feel free to chime in with your thoughts on life, growing up, and the crazy things we have to figure out along the way.
